Garden Club Gets the Dirt on Organic Growing
The Laguna Beach Garden Club will host a presentation “Let’s Get Growing – the Organic Way” on Friday, March 11, at the Neighborhood Congregational Church, 340 St. Ann’s Drive. The featured speaker will be Gisele Schoniger, the organic category manager for Kellogg Supply, Inc., a veteran of the garden supply industry who has witnessed the shift from chemical-based fertilizing and pest control to organic and natural practices.
Schoniger, a strong convert to the latter, will explain why building healthy soils with natural and organic practices results in stronger, more beautiful plants, and will offer club members samples of the company’s latest certified organic products.
The social gathering starts at 9:30 a.m. and the business meeting begins at 10 a.m. The meeting is free one time for guests.
